Interfaith Art Festival On The Move (InteReligious Art Nuvo project for artists)
The Interfaith Art Festival On The Move is meant for artists who were inspired by different religious and spiritual texts, no matter from which cultural or religious background artists come from.
The goals of the project are:
· education through “text based visual art”
· passing on the message of tolerance, peace and interreligious dialogue
· contribution to the development of contemporary art
· uniting artists from different cultural and religious backgrounds, who are inspired by religious and spiritual texts
· involving people in interactive art workshops and charity idea
How does it work?
Artists who are inspired by religious and spiritual texts unite and travel once/ twice a year to different European capitals and organize an art exhibition/ art show together. They are working as artists in residence for 2 weeks and than performing/exhibiting their art during the Interfaith Art Festival On The Move.
During the Interfaith Art Festival On The Move the artists will exhibit their artworks with quotes from the texts by which they were inspired. This way the visitors would have an opportunity to broaden their knowledge about different religions and to be engaged into intereligious dialogue.
The project itself will revolve around the art exhibition. In addition, the participants/visitors will have an opportunity to take part in several activities such as theater play, musical concerts, reading short stories and poems, art therapy workshops etc.
During the art show artworks and souvenirs will be available for purchase.
From each sold art piece 10% will go to charity. It’s up to the artist to which charity purposes the 10% of his/her profit would go to, but he or she has to provide an official document which proves that this amount was donated. This way artists can directly contribute to the society we live in.
Currently, a Facebook group “InteReligious Art Nuvo Project“ for artists is functioning for visual artists, authors, musicians, and actors from different religious and cultural backgrounds. Its providing the opportunity to stay connected and share ideas and thoughts regarding their art and the project itself. The portal offers a ground for communication as it is visited by numerous artists on a daily basis.
